METSCAPE plus

We are currently upgrading web content on the Metscape website. The 8day GFS model is already runing on the site. This is a very detailed Map with wind barbs, 6hr rainfall accumulation, isobars, and 0 and 3 degree isotherms (this is indicates snow fall).

A 7day Haymaker forecast is posted daily on the website and will indicate haymaking windows. This onepage graphical forecast is easy to use ... scanning between the 4 panels on the forecast at the location of your interested it shows when dry periods will occur and the opportunity to cut hay or silage. Wind forecasts for specific areas is planned for the next month. Updated daily the forecast will provide detailed area wind forecasts for our Horticultural Clients.

 

 

 

 

January 12 OUTLOOK

La Nina conditions are continuing. Classic cloudy conditions and NE flows are dominating.

The MJO looks likely to produce a spike in rainfall over the early part of Marchl. The latest forecast shows that the Madden-Julian Oscillation has slowed down, previously we were expecting this 2weeks earlier.

Metscape online service provides a 'LONG RANGE' view of the weather with information that focuses on the next 3months. Monitoring ENSOI ('El Nino/ La Nina') the current weather pattern and its likely impacts on the coming months.

The timing of then intensity of the wet January over much of the country was predicted in November 09.
